John Halfpenny ~ Executive Director

John is an experienced entrepreneur and chartered engineer (CEng) with a successful track record and significant experience in the clean-tech and electronics sectors. He founded and subsequently sold: Micrologic Solutions to ARM plc, Telephone Solutions Ltd, HII Ltd, and Enterprise Network Sciences Ltd. to various trade buyers. He was director of embedded software at ARM plc, CEO at Splashpower Ltd and CEO of CMR Fuel Cells plc., for which he was responsible for its London Stock Exchange AIM listing in 2005. He started his career with Texas Instruments in 1982 and has a Masters degree from Cambridge University in Engineering Science and is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET). |
Giles Hutchison ~ Executive Director

As founder of Reciva Limited, the world’s leading Internet Radio technology company, Giles is experienced at bringing consumer electronics products to market, from inception right through to final boxed product. He has licensed and manufactured products in high volume in Asia and the UK. Giles was Founder and Commercial Director at Nexus Electronics Ltd, the Electronics and Software design consultancy, which he grew and sold to FutureTV Limited, a world leader in video-on demand systems. Giles holds an Honours’ degree in Physics with Solid-State Electronics from Exeter University. |
Dr Ian Boston ~ Advisory Board

Ian Boston has been investing and advising Cambridge based startups since the mid 1990's. He brings a wealth of experience in the field. In addition to a sequence of board and executive positions in those companies, he sits on the Board of the Sakai Foundation, a US 503c non profit organisation focused on delivering technology enhanced teaching and learning for higher education globally and acts as Chief Architect for the same. He is Chief Technology Officer at Caret, University of Cambridge and a member of the Apache Software Foundation being a PMC member of Apache Shindig and Apache Sling. |
